Defining moments in her life have caused Michele to connect with two mottos: “I believe in Christ, so come what may” and “Shall we not go on in so great a cause?”. As she raised six sons, one daughter, nine grandchildren, and created and managed a retail and service business alongside her husband, these mottos remind her why she does what she does.
Her children’s rare health challenges have stretched her to comprehend heartache and sorrow, when life felt hopeless. “Heros are those who face lifelong challenges” she would reply when others spoke of her daughter’s illness at two weeks old, or her son’s bacterial meningitis at fourteen, both of which were healed from. Then, she became the hero she spoke of when another son was diagnosed with a rare genetic disease which will cause blindness. Addiction of a loved one is another excruciating test she has endured
