Over 150 people attended the 2020 Utah Mother of the Year Awards to honor mothers of Utah and First Lady Jeanette Herbert.
At 6:30 pm each of the six attending honorees gave three-minute speeches. After pictures, the attendees enjoyed dinner a program. The emcee for the program was John Dougall, Utah State Auditor. During the program the 5th Grade Essay contest first place winner Jaeda Coon read her winning essay. Jennie Taylor was recognized as a 2019 Utah Mother of Achievement. Utah Mothers honored Utah First Lady Jeanette Herbert as the 2020 Utah Mother of Achievement for her support of mothers, children and families through her initiative Uplift Families! Governor Herbert was invited to introduce his wife.
Each honoree was recognized by one of her local officials:
- Barbara Booth, Ogden City by Gage Froerer, Weber County Commissioner
- Karalie Stokes, Morgan County by Robert McConnell, Morgan County Council
- Donna Ross, Morgan County by Ann Millner, Utah State Senate
- Sandi Suarez, Davis County by Joy Petro, Layton City Mayor
- Kelly Ballard, Salt Lake County by Shireen Ghorbani, Salt Lake County Council
- Tamara Taylor, Weber County by Rhonda Perkins, Office Chris Stewart, Congressman
At the end of the program Barbara Booth was named as the 2020 Utah Mother of the Year.
