The Mother of Achievement award recognizes outstanding women who make an impact outside of their own families. It is important to note that a nominee does not personally need to be a mother, but a woman who has impacted children and families.
Each year since 2012 Utah has recognized many women as Utah Mother of the Year. From 2012 through 2018 these women were considered to become a National Mother of Achievement at the American Mothers, Inc. convention. During this time period three Utah Mothers of Achievement were named National Mothers of Achievement: Lynn Callister, Sharon Lay, and Gladeeh Begaye.
In 2019 National discontinued selecting National Mothers of Achievement from state honorees. However, the Utah Association continues to recognize women who have made an impact not only on their families, but on children and families in the community, state, and/or nation.
