This is the last segment from Utah President Sharon Lay. The two previous blogs were part of her lemonade recipe during difficult times.
I started cleaning and organizing closets and cupboards. I watched plenty of videos and learned a lot. I have shared some of those on my Facebook page. I also pulled out some projects that I needed to finish and set up a schedule to get them done. I watched some great videos on how to repurpose old stuff and found some things to paint up and clean up to decorate my house. By watching a few videos, I learned how to make a reversible apron and a great beach bag-who is for the beach real soon?
Catching up: I have loved having time to get back into family history research. We found a little extra money and bought a nice little scanner and have been scanning all of our boxes of photos. The hard part was remembering who the people were so we could label them. We will get there! One of my favorite projects was doing a little family history photo album for a great niece who has been estranged from this side of the family. It was so wonderful to get a phone call from her expressing her appreciation and love.
I would love to know how you have found a way to flourish in one of these four areas (or another if you please) during the last few months. Please send your ideas to sklayut49@gmail.com and we will include your gems in the next newsletter.
Not only do we have to adapt and grow individually during this stressful and unprecedented time, but American Mothers as an organization has to do some reflecting on our goals and the method we will use to reach them. Business as normal is no longer enough, and some things may not ever be normal again.
Thank you so much for your dedication to the sacred trust of motherhood and our irreplaceable influence on the world, one child and one family at a time.
Sharon Lay, President of American Mothers Inc. Utah Association
